Weapon damage types
Although not very
important when you start, the damage type can greatly change
damage you inflict to your foes.
Know this:
-Monsters with sanctuary will receive 2*less damage from you, but
you can dispel them.
-Monsters with protection from (alignment) will receive somewhat
like 35% less damage from you if your align matches the
protection, however protect neutral does not exist, that is why
it is interesting to be neutral.
-Monsters with protection from (damtype) will receive 35 % less
damage from you if you are using this damtype.You cannot do
anything to change this except changing your weapon or your
damage type.
-Monsters with Critical weakness vs (damtype) will receive 35 %
more damage from you if you are using this damtype.Beware it does
apply to you too, so choose your race wisely.You can also remove
critical weaknesses by casting a prot-damtype.
-If you are weak vs one physical damtype(example: eldar vs
slice), your globe of invulnerability wont protect you vs that
damage type.
Damtypes
Slice,slash,cleave,chop
        are sword and axe main damtype.They are in the same
        damtype family.Eldars are very weak vs this damtype.Mobs
        I know for being weak vs slice are:
        Tax collector,Nearly all beer goblins,Carnivorous
        Plant,Blood ring warrior,Blood ring noble,Priest of the
        dark god(I am not sure),Nearly all order members(land of
        beer goblins),Morgresses,Morgraths,all kobolds at dominia
        ruby mox,Ironfoot treefolk at dominia.
        Resistant monsters to slice are:Follower of the dark
        god,Captain of the city guards,Witches at Oz,Tin man.
        Immune monsters to slice are:all officers on the peaceful
        ST:TNG starship,Nearly all guards at Falcovnia,horse at
        falcovnia,and all mages using globe of invulnerability.I
        know much about this damtype.I think beating is better
        than slice.
        Slice works on Ivar.
Blast,pound,thwack,thrust,trip,assault,beating,bash,kick,peck,smash,punch
        are mace, flail and staves damtype.They are in the same
        damtype family.Ratlings are critically weak to this
        damtype.
        Mobs being weak vs this damype are:
        All rats at rats lair,Mob o rats at Shadar Logoth, Bunch
        o' Rats at shadar logoth(Protected good, however),
        Loitering Guard(Falcovnia).Solitary rats at Shadar
        Logoth,Giant Sandworm(Dune), Insect(Soulblade),Rat king
        at Shadar logoth,Thicklet Basilisk,Riker,The elemental
        guardian and heavy weapon guys seem not to like bash
        damtype...
        This damage type works fine at Soulblade.
        Mobs resistant to this damtype are:
        Carnivorous Plant,Yoda(Starwars),Duelist(Soulblade), Most
        mobs at ST:TNG.
        The Mountain Cyclops(MoD), Sardaukar(Dune) areImmune to
        this damtype
        I prefer this damtype than slice.
        Ivar is unaffected to pound.
Pierce,stab,sting,bite,claw
        are dagger damtypes.They are in the same damtype
        family.All lizards are critically weak vs this
        damtype.Trolls resist that damage type.
        Field rats,Greedo Bugeye,Sentries(Falcovnia) are weak vs
        this damtype.
        Troop(Falcovnia) is immune vs this damtype
        Pierce works on Ivar.
Flaming bite, flame,
        sphere of flame are spell/flame blades damtypes.This
        damage can do an additionnal burned
        flag,which may blind the ennemy.Blind is very efficient
        in wars,making the blinded unable to cast any spell.
        Vampires, Trolls and Wolfen are weak vs this damtype.That
        is interesting as all questing newbies are wolfen.Mobs
        weak vs this damtype are:
        Wolves at Kul-Tiras,Maiden Vampires at Kul-Tiras,Sengir
        vampires, Sengir Bats,Grey wolves,Mad
        Wolves(Soulblade),Sengir Baron,Field rats,Gate
        guards(Falcovnia),Patrol guards,Lagmonster,Greedo
        Bugeye,Sentries(Falco),Carnivorous Plant,Zombie
        men,Shotgun guys,Castle
        guards,Lich(Dominia),Recruiter(Falcovnia),Vladimir
        Ludzig(Falcovnia),Frost wolves(Mountains of
        Desolation),Impaled men(Falcovnia),Impaled
        Women(Falcovnia),Rent-a-cop(Casino),Red and white
        cockatoos(Amazon Nation),all kobolds at dominia,uthden
        troll at dominia,Ironfoot treefolk at dominia.
        Mobs resistant vs fire are:
        Blood ring nobles,Blood ring
        warriors,Duelist(Soulblade),Blood ring Elite
        warriors,Blood ring recruits,Priests of the dark god(I am
        not sure),dwarves at dominia.
        Mobs Immune to fire are:Hanged
        Man(Falcovnia),Riker(ST:TNG),Picard(ST:TNG),Draft
        Horse(Falcovnia)
Light damtype:Vampire and shadow are weak vs light.Bat at Kul-Tiras is weak vs light.It is an only spell damage type.
Freeze damtype:Divas are
        weak vs frost.Wolfen are resistant vs frost.Can do an
        additionnal
        Chill flag
        which decrease ennemy strength.Corpse of an undefined
        animal(Slaughterhouse) is weak vs cold.
        Giant roc and giant sandworm are immune vs freeze.
Divine power:A nice
        damtype.Nearly no one is immune to it, and most demons
        are very weak vs Divine power, I mean at descent to hell
        and at Castle Vlad-Shamir, Giant roc(Mountains of
        Desolation), Priests of the Dark God,Maiden
        Vampire(Kul-Tiras), Vampire(Slaughterhouse), Lesser
        Demon(Slaughterhouse), Greater
        Demon(Slaughterhouse),Duncan Idaho(Dune), Roc(Desert
        Prison), Zombie(Arboria)are weak vs divine power.Some
        mobs at ST:TNG are immune to divine power.Anyway, the
        Sengir vampire seems not to be very weak vs Divine power
        Zombie Guards(Arboria),Visitors(Amazon Nation)resist
        divine power.
        Vampires hate divine power.
        Ivar is unaffected by divine power.
Shock/Shocking
        Bite:.Tritons are weak vs shock.can do an additional Electrify
        flag, which can Paralyze your ennemy.Mobs which are weak
        vs Shock are:Crystalline entity(Mountains of
        Desolation),Mountain Cyclops(Mountains of
        Desolation),Mountain Yeti(MoD), Giant Roc(MoD),Spirit of
        a dead Giant(Giant Peaceful Village),Two headed
        giant(Dominia ruby mox),Hill giant(Dominia Ruby Mox),
        Hurloon Minotaur(Dominia ruby Mox),All kobolds(dominia
        ruby mox), All Stone giants(MoD)
        Dwarves at dominia resist shocking bite.Some ST:TNG mobs
        are immune to shocking bite.
        Ivar is unaffected by Shock
Energy:a fair damtype.No one is really resistant to it, but no one is really weak vs it...
Digestion/acidic bite:Same
        look like as Energy...Children(Falcovnia),all the ghosts
        of smurfs(smurf heaven), Sandworms(Dune), Duncan
        Idaho(Dune), Shaddam IV(Dune) and Hanged Men(Falcovnia)
        are weak vs acid.Divas and Trolls are weak vs acidic
        bite.Some mobs at ST:TNG ,Riker, Picard, Corpse of an
        undefined animal(Slaughterhouse)are immune to acidic
        bite.
        Ivar is unaffected by acidic bite.
Friction:Dont know much about this.Blood ring Nobles resist Friction.Giant Sandworms are weak vs friction.
Suction:Dont know much about this.
Toxic/Poison:a spell damage type(gas breath).In generally that damage works fine.However a few mobs and pcs resist or are immune to it.Giant Roc is immune vs toxic
Decaying touch/negation/Drain:Vampires are resistant vs Negation.Amazon guard is immune vs negation.Thief(Falcovnia) is weak vs negation.That damage type sucks.
Mental energy/Mind
        force:Giant are weak vs Mental energy.Works fine at giant
        peaceful village.Worshipping giant female,Stone giant
        guards, Elite giant stone guard, stone giant warriors,
        Eldar Krysten, Stone giant gladiators, Stone Giant
        Champions, Eldress Krysten, Stone giant boys, Stone giant
        girls, Stone giant berserkers and peasant(PGV, MoD) are
        weak vs this damtype.
        Hassan is unaffected to Mental energy.
Magic/Wrath:Raw magic
        damage type...quite fair,Giant Sandworms(Dune),Greedo
        Bugeye(Starwars),Alexander(ST:TNG, attacked vessel)are
        weak vs Wrath.rarely immunity, rarely
        resistance.Quicklings are weak vs magic.
        Ivar is unaffected by wrath.
Wind:This is a spell damage type.This damage type works very well against flying mobs or pcs.That is the only weakness of Half-Griffons.you can also make your opponent fly to improve the efficiency of this spell.To see if your opponent is flying, try a trip, it will tell you if your opponent is flying.If the trip works(does damage),your opponent is not flying.If he is flying, you will see:"His feet aren't on the ground!"
Undefined:the BEST damtype:No one is weak vs it, but no one is resistant, no one is immune,no one can become immune to it...I would greatly put it on my axe of aardwolf, but you cannot change damage TO undefined...Too bad.
Changing:Changing flag does one damtype at random every strike.In generally, you will do same average damage than if you choose Undefined.Bless weapon automatically sets an undefined flag on target weapon.It is a good thing to have a changing weapon in your inventory(ex:carving knife, dagger of vengeance)to see which damtype hits the best one mob.
